post birth control syndrome

Does the thought of coming off your hormone birth control make your eye twitch?

If so, you're not alone!

I polled my Instagram audience, and 90% of ladies said that they're afraid to come off their hormonal birth control due to the possibility of nasty post-birth control symptoms rearing their heads.

What post-birth control symptoms, you ask? Lemme explain.

  • Painful, cystic acne

  • Hair loss

  • Weight gain

  • Mood swings

  • Heavy/painful periods

  • Missing periods

  • Irregular periods

  • Fertility struggles

These are all symptoms of what's called “post-birth control syndrome” – a term that refers to the hormonal sh*tstorm (as I like to call it) that arises when you stop taking hormonal birth control cold turkey (key word “cold turkey”).

These symptoms generally appear ~3 months after breaking up with birth control and can last for several months.

The good news? These symptoms can be lessened or totally avoided by putting in 3-6 months of prep before you come off birth control!

You might be thinking, “Prep? What kind of prep?!”

Things like:

  • Eating enough

  • Supporting blood sugar balance

  • Eating an anti-inflammatory diet

  • Replenishing nutrients depleted by birth control

  • Specific supplements to support hormone balance post birth control

  • Gut health support

  • Adrenal/nervous system support

  • Liver detox support

It seems overwhelming (I’ve been there). But it doesn’t have to be!

I teach everythingggg you need to know about this “prep” inside my online course, Birth Control Breakup Adacemy!

Take it from BCBA grad, Rachel:

“Before joining this program, I was overwhelmed and anxious about getting off birth control. Now, I’m feeling better physically and feel very empowered! I learned so much information that my gynecologist never told me. Having the community was great; I loved having the peace of knowing I’m not in this alone.”

Doors to the course are OPEN & we’re enrolling new students every day!

This course is for you if:

  • You’re on hormonal birth control, wanting to transition to a non-hormonal alternative

  • You're ready to come off BC to have a baby & wanna have your hormones in tip-top shape before TTC

  • You prefer to stay on birth control, but wanna support your body to combat the negative side effects

  • You broke up with birth control cold turkey & now you’re in the midst of a hormonal sh*t storm
